The Finals of The British Championships will take place at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in London on 4th & 5th July 2015. The event will see 200 athletes throwdown over two days to see who will be victorious and take home their share of the £5,000 prize purse!

Registration for the online qualifier is now closed but spectator tickets are available for the finals in July.

Male & Female RX
Male & Female Scaled (athletes may choose to scale any of the qualifier workouts but athletes who elect to scale will compete during the qualifier only and will not be eligible for qualification to The British Championships Finals)

Please note there will be no masters divisions for this event.

Registration for the online qualifiers will open on Wednesday 10th March and registration will close at 19:00 (GMT) on Thursday 23rd April. No late entries will be accepted. All athletes will need to register under a CrossFit Affiliate. An affiliate manager will have to be nominated and will be responsible for verifying athletes’ scores each week.

Before getting the opportunity to battle it out in London each athlete will first have to qualify through one of two channels:

  • British athletes who competed at The Athlete Games Finals in January 2015 will be offered automatic qualification to The British Championships.
  • The remaining places will be filled by the top qualifying athletes from the online qualifier.

The list of confirmed seeded athletes will be published prior to the start of the online qualifier.

All qualifying athletes must hold a valid UK passport.

At the end of each week during the qualifier the top 100 male and female athletes (and top 3 athletes from the online scaled competition) will be asked to provide video submissions for that week's qualifier WOD. The athletes requested to submit videos must do so by 19:00GMT on the Sunday following the qualifier.

Whilst videos do not need to be submitted when you submit your scores, we highly recommend if you are aiming to qualify (or be a top finisher in the online scaled competition) that you upload your videos with scores as you go to avoid any last minute upload issues that may cost you a qualifying place. Videos should be loaded to a video hosting site like YouTube. The public link to that video is then submitted with your score.

The online qualifiers will run from 17th April - 7th May 2015.

Each week for three weeks one workout will be released and athletes will have until the following Thursday to complete the workout and submit their scores.

  • WOD 1 will be released at 19:00 (GMT) on Friday 17th April. Athletes will have until Thursday 23rd April at 19:00 (GMT) to submit their scores and have their score verified by their affiliate manager.
  • WOD 2 will be released at 19:00 (GMT) on Friday 24th April. Athletes will have until Thursday 30th April at 19:00 (GMT) to submit their scores and have their score verified by their affiliate manager.
  • WOD 3 will be released at 19:00 (GMT) on Friday 1st May. Athletes will have until Thursday 7th May at 19:00 (GMT) to submit their scores and have their score verified by their affiliate manager.

All workouts must be completed at a registered CrossFit affiliate and athletes must be judged by a level 1 CrossFit coach.

The British Championships leaderboard will be live throughout the qualifier and will be updated as scores are submitted. Athletes will be awarded points depending on their placing in each workout. At the end of the qualifiers athletes will receive an overall ranking.

Qualifying athletes will receive an email inviting them to compete at the finals; this will be sent out on Tuesday 12th April and athletes will have 3 days until Friday 15th of May at 19:00 GMT to accept their place and purchase their competitor ticket. Those who do not do so will forfeit their place at the finals and the place will be offered to the next athlete in line.

Second round offers will be sent out on Monday 18th May and those athletes will then have 3 days until Thursday 21st at 19:00 GMT to accept and their place and purchase their competitor ticket.

During the qualifiers there will be an option for athletes to scale the workouts. Scaling a workout will immediately rank athletes below athletes who completed the workout as Rx'd. This division is aimed at athletes who want to compete but may not have the experience to Rx the qualifier workouts. The prescriptions for this division will be very similar to the qualifier workouts but the weights will be lighter and the movements may be scaled. While completing these scaled workouts won’t give you the opportunity to compete at the The Athlete Games finals it will still give you a chance to see how you compare against athletes of a similar standard and hopefully provide you with a challenge and motivation to continue competing. Prizes will be awarded to the top 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female athletes in the scaled division.

The event finals will take place on the 4th & 5th July at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in London. Details for the finals will be released closer to the event.

Cash prizes will be awarded to...

1st Place Male and Female - £2,500 each
